Condolences
Brenda B. Trapp Research Assistant February 12, 2010

To Jessie's dear family,

Although I didn't know Jessie well, it was a privilege to serve as her research assistant on the colon cancer survivors study.  I know you will miss her dearly.  Our hearts go out to you and all who knew and loved her.  We know that you will see her again (1 Thessalonians 4:13) and you will then be together for all eternity. May the love and God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirt comfort and sustain you always.

Dear Satia Family,
We, the friends of Jessie in Ghana share in your sorrow and loss. Jessie walked into our lives in 2006, when we invited her to attend a Nutrition Conference in Ghana (ANEC). We became friends and then we carried out research together for two years. Jessie was like a sister to us. She loved Ghana and wanted to be back again this year. Jessie showed us a lot of love and respect. She was a wonderful person to work with. We prayed for her to get better so we could continue our work together. We are very sad to hear of her passing away.  Our God found it necessary to end her suffering. Although we are sad because we will not see her in the physical, we know Jessie is in a much happier place now.  May she rest peacefully in the bosom of our Lord Jesus. To the family we offer our deepest condolences.

To the Satia family,

It was with great sadness that I heard the news of the passing of one of the best teachers I have ever had. The impact she had on my career and on me as a person cannot be put in words as it is immeasruable. She will be greatly missed and you all have my deepest empathy and sympathy. Rest in peace Jessie,

Jessie dedicated so much of her life to helping others out of love.  You all are so amazing to have raised such a gifted, beautiful, and loving woman.  You all are apart of my heart, in my thoughts and always a part of my prayers.  Rest in Peace Jessie!

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Dear Jessie's family, it has been an honor and a gift to see the immense love you all have for each other and for Jessie.  -Asong.  I wish you peace and comfort in your memories of happy times with Jessie.  And that you take refuge from the pains of grief in your love for Jessie and each other and your faith that she is with you and us all in our hearts and we will all see her again one day.

Dear Auntie Philo, Uncle Ben, At & Ake,

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel in Asong’s passing.

Although it is difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, we pray that looking back at all the fond memories of Asong will help comfort us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire family. Indeed : “God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.”

With Love

Our hearts bleed at your passing my dear sister. When you last called on the 28th of Jan I thought you were simply doing your normal house calls; calling to check on your brother-In-law and kids as usual; I thought you were calling to check on what was up with me! I could not imagine we were simply saying our last good-byes and that I was never going to talk to you in the physical again. Asong, you're gone too soon! It is hard to take mami! There will never be words to express the feeling, you were a true friend! You will forever be missed!

We pray the Good Lord grants your parents and sisters the courage to go through this tremendous lost. Rest in peace Sister Asong, till we meet to part no more.

Please send me a number on which you can be reached! Good night my dear friend, Good night sister Asong!

Lynda & Leo
